The Dodge Dakota is a compact pickup truck offered in two body styles- extended cab and crew cab. Extended models have the seating capacity of 5-passengers, while the crew cabs have 6-passenger seating capacity. The extended models come with rear hinged back doors and 6.4 ft cargo bed, while the other models have conventional back doors and 5.3 ft bed. Four trim versions are offered, namely the base model ST, mid-level Big Horn, top line Laramie and off road ready TRX4. The Dodge Dakota loses its all wheel drive option for 2009. Engine
The 2009 Dodge Dakota is equipped with 3.7 liter SOHC V6 engine that delivers 210 hp at 5200 rpm and torque of 235 lb ft at 4000 rpm. The standard transmission to the engine is 4-speed automatic, while it offers 5-speed automatic as optional. The compact pickup truck can achieve fuel economy of 15 mpg in the city premises and 20 mpg on the highway roads.
