The 2010 Dodge Dakota comes with major changes. It receives new rear spring assemblies and front springs and shocks for improved ride and handling. The 2010 Dodge Dakota is also offered in few new colors added to its palette: sunburst orange, bright white, detonator yellow, and flame red. The standard engine to the model is 3.7 liter V6 version and it comes mated with 4-speed automatic transmission. 6-speed manual transmission has been dropped for 2010. It also offers 4.7 liter V8 engine as optional and it comes paired with 5-speed automatic transmission.

The starting price of the compact truck is around $23,495. The next generation model comes with maximum towing capacity of 7,250 pounds. With the V6 engine, the 2010 Dodge Dakota can achieve fuel economy of 16 miles per gallon in the city premises and 24 miles per gallon on the highway roads.
